Itinerary

Week before departure - expedition kit will need to be collected and shared between the groups.

12th July 

Meet at SCD for coach journey to Gatwick Airport (5.00am kit check for 5:30am departure)

Departing 12th JULY 24 (LGW-BGO) 09:35am – 12:30pm (Including 23Kg Baggage per passenger)

Arrive in Bergen to meet Jeremy and his Team from Hepworth Adventures. 

Full kit check in Bergen and chance to buy some last minute supplies. 

Train from Bergen to Finse (Dep: TBC but afternoon/evening) 

Wild camp in Finse 

13th July

Acclimatisation day in and around Finse, how to walk on snow, weather, navigation and hut etiquette

Stay at the DNT Hut in Finse (like a youth hostel) - evening meal, bed breakfast and lunch included

14th July-17th July 

Start Gold qualifying expedition around the Hardangerjøkulen region- four groups will unlikely see each other for 4 days.

All camps are wild camps and location will vary by group and weather. (DNT huts may be used if the weather turns bad)

17th July

Final day walk back in to Finse to the DNT hut for evening meal and good sleep.

18th July

Late start - Breakfast and lunch from hut included last look around Finse before catching the train back to Bergen (Dep: TBC)

arrive in Bergan to hotel and afternoon exploring Bergen and evening meal together

19th July

Breakfast at hotel, pack bags and leave in hotel, full day exploring Bergan before flight home

Returning 19th JULY 24 (BGO-LGW) 19:00pm – 20:20pm (Including 23Kg Baggage per passenger)

Coach from Gatwick to SCD - ETA  22:00 - Students will be able to call during the journey home to advise of exact time of arrival
