Proposed Itinerary based on 2025 trip

WEDNESDAY - Date to be confirmed- expedition kit will need to be collected and shared between the groups.

Itinerary: Departs Saturday 25th July2025 

Day 1 @ 5:00am (TBC when flight booked)  meet at school Heathrow 

Meet Hepworth Adventure staff either on the flight or as we arrive in Oslo. They will then take over the running of the trip.

Flight from London Heathrow to Oslo approx 9:35am – 12:30pm: 

Once in Oslo students will have a kit check and can buy any additional fresh food they need for their expedition. We will also be collecting gas for their stoves. We will then depart by minibus and plan to arrive early evening at expedition location (TBC). We plan for students to eat their own evening meal on stoves in

Students are wild camping the first night.

Day 2 Acclimatisation Day:  Students will be cooking their own breakfast and need their own lunch. They will do a short acclimatisation walk. We will then walk back to a DNT hut (like a Youth Hostel) for evening meals and indoor accommodation. The group will be in separate rooms from the public but there may have to be some bunk rooms with mixed genders. Toilet and shower facilities are separate. They will get a 3-course evening meal, self service breakfast and be able to take food from the breakfast buffet for their lunch on day 1. A small bag with clean clothes can be left at the DNT hut for their return. Please note no valuables can be left as these are not locked away.

Day 3 to Day 6 Students will be on their qualifying expedition. They will have loosely planned some routes back in the UK but they will be subject to change based on weather conditions. They will need 3 evening meals, 4 packed lunches (1 can be taken from the DNT hut) and 3 breakfasts. They will finish back at the DNT hut for the final night. They will get a 3 course evening meal, breakfast and will be able to take their lunch for the journey back to Oslo.

Day7 Once back in Oslo we will be staying one night in the hotel (TBC); private rooms / dorms have been secured. The evening we'll finish the day at a restaurant for an evening meal. The cost of this meal (main, chips, drink and dessert) is included.

Day 8 We will have to check out of the hotel by about 10 am and leave our luggage at the hotel. The students will have some free time to explore Oslo. They will have to get their own lunch in Oslo before we collect their bags and take the tram back to the airport for an evening flight back to London Heathrow. We will supply flight number so you can track the flight and meet us at arrivals.
